I was tapped to deliver the keynote address at the Expanded Animation’s Synaesthetic Syntax symposium. One of many events at Ars Electronica, this day long symposium brings together researchers and artists. The topic of my address was “ Sounding Together – Choreographing the Unpredictable.” I took a look at historic experimental coupling of sonic vocabulary and abstract animation then launched into sound/sight collaborations with symphonies. You can see actual clips from my ‘COVID canceled’ multi-screen animated projections for Berio’s Sinfonia with the Oregon Symphony and Roomful of Teeth.
